BRAKSPEAR BITTER SURGES AHEAD

Since the brewing of Brakspear Bitter was moved to Wychwood early this summer, sales have leapt by almost 25%.

Wychwood On-Trade Sales Director, Richard Luscombe, comments:

“Brakspear has always been famed for the quality of its Bitter and for having bags of flavour at a very drinkable 3.4% abv. Since late June, when the Wychwood Brewery in Witney was expanded to offer a new home for the Brakspear fermenters and their famous “Double Drop” system, many licensees have tried the brand and been delighted by the response of their customers. It seems that drinkers are really responding to the commitment we have shown in bringing the brewing of the beer back to Oxfordshire, and we can now be proud that Brakspear can once again be regarded as a classic Regional ale.”

Graham from The Bird in Hand, Henley:
“Brakspear’s popularity has come on leaps and bounds since brewing moved to Wychwood. I think it’s got lots of flavour, and I’m now getting through 3 18s a week!”

Martin Cornish, Licensee of New Inn, Witney:
“We’re very pleased to see Brakspear back, particularly back in Witney. It has very quickly become our number 1 seller.”
