Brakspear Seasonal Ale programme 2004
Brakspear's reasons to be joyful
December's seasonal cask ale from Brakspear sees the return of their classic 'O' Be Joyful, first brewed in 1993 and a rich, warming beer at 4.8% abv with a dark and fruity complexity.
Black and Crystal malts and dark brown sugars have been blended by Head Brewer Jeremy Moss to give a rounded flavour, reminiscent of dried fruits and Christmas cake. Fuggles and Goldings hops balance the sweetness with an earthy citrus punch.
Jeremy comments:
" 'O' Be Joyful is a delightful seasonal blend with a blast of aroma from the Goldings hop. This beer has wonderfully complex biscuit malt flavours and a tang of citrus fruit with a final dusting of bitterness. OBJ is a real reason to look forward to Christmas."
