Wychwood

Fall under the spell of Wychwood’s Black Wych

From a cauldron deep in the heart of Wychwood brewery, Oxfordshire, comes Black Wych stout, a dark and heady 5.0% abv brew, which is Sainsbury’s ‘Beer of the Month’ for October.

Brewed, as are all the Wychwood family of beers, on a bed of Maris Otter pale malt, Wychwood’s head brewer Jeremy Moss has added a dash of Crystal and Black malts and a handful of oats, to give Black Wych its seductively alluring dark colour and velvety texture. In addition, its combination of delicate Progress and earthy Target hops contribute to the complex inter-play of flavours.

The original commissioned artwork for the bottle was designed for Wychwood Brewery by the artist Ed Org. Images of the artwork from this and other Wychwood beer labels are available as screensavers, wallpaper and e-cards on line at www.wychwood.co.uk

Jeremy Moss, head brewer at Wychwood comments:

“Black Wych has been brewed at Wychwood for longer than I can remember, and remains a very popular seasonal beer which I’m delighted to be brewing again this year. The rich malty flavour and dark colour are perfect for Autumn as the nights draw in.”

Black Wych is available in all Sainsbury’s stores at £1.59 a 500ml bottle.
