Wychwood’s Battle Axe

Seasonal Cask ale for August-September

Wychwood Brewery of Witney, Oxfordshire is declaring war on thirst with the announcement of Battle Axe, its thirst quenching seasonal cask ale for August and September 2005 - the perfect pint to savour in celebration of the victory of flavourful seasonal ales.

The 4.2% abv Battle Axe is a full-bodied, fruity brew, with a gloriously sensual attack to the nose from its supporting army of English Whitbread Goldings Variety (WGV) and Goldings hops. Its pumpclip also pulls no punches, with a pictorial warning of the massive flavours to come, in the shape of a full-bodied female warrior in the mould of Queen Boadicea, with a cascade of blonde pigtails and with body armour in the style of Madonna’s Dolce and Gabbana cone brassiere.

Jeremy Moss, Britain’s Brewer of the Year and Wychwood’s Head Brewer, comments:

“I wanted to brew a late summer ale which would be big on fruit and big on flavour to really hit the spot. This is an Amazonian among seasonal beers.”
