Wychwood Brewery is proud to announce a new arrival to the family with the birth of Hobgoblin Strong Dark Ale in a can.

Our new born is just as deliciously dark as the bottled ‘Hobgoblin’ of legend that you have come to know and love. It’s still 5.2% ABV and is full bodied, well balanced, with a chocolate, toffee malt flavour, moderate bitterness & a distinct character.

Brewed in the heart of Oxfordshire at Wychwood Brewery, this mischievous brew has gone from strength to strength over the past year aided by its advertising campaign, challenging lager drinkers of the UK with – ‘’What’s the matter Lagerboy, afraid you might taste something” . This has now become the chant of real ale drinkers across the land.

The new can is a great and convenient way to enjoy your ‘Goblin. It’s dark taste, funky packaging and amazing £3.99 for 4 x 500ml cans ensures it will be a popular purchase for the discerning drinker.

In 500ml bottles, from Tesco, Sainsbury’s, ASDA, Morrisons, Waitrose and other fine supermarkets and off licences.

The Legendary Hobgoblin in a bottle is now the 6th biggest selling premium bottled ale in the UK. It is showing a 26% increase in off-trade sales for the 12 months ending December 2004.

Tasting Note for Hobgoblin Beer

Wychwood’s Head Brewer Jeremy Moss uses the low yielding, flavour-packed barley variety, Maris Otter, and a blend of English Fuggles and Styrian Goldings hops for this rich, dark brew.
