Triple takes Henley by storm
Brakspear Triple really hit the spot with consumers at this year’s Henley Food Festival 2006, with the new, award-winning bottled ale selling out completely on both days.
Brakspear Triple was launched in 2005, a very modern take on an old-style ale, brewed in Brakspear’s legendary double drop fermentation system to 7.2% abv. It is already available at £1.99 per 500ml bottle in Waitrose and Sainsbury and was recently named as the world's second finest strong ale** in the most highly regarded international beer competition.
The Brakspear Brewery’s stand was positioned in the marquee alongside celebrity chef Anthony Worrall Thompson, a great supporter of local foods, and was an instant success with both male and female drinkers alike.
Rupert Thompson, Director of Refresh UK, comments:
“We were delighted with the success of this inspirational event. I feel that this is the start of something special. Visitors seemed really enthusiastic about the diversity of foods and drinks, and they were certainly overwhelmed by the deep, complex flavours of our new beer, which we paired on the stand alongside two of my favourite accompaniments for it: un-pasteurised Stilton cheese and rich Dundee cake.
“ Brakspear Triple celebrates the return of Brakspear to Oxfordshire and we are delighted this ale was so popular with so many.”
